The 1920s is a historical time in music, when Jazz began to flourish. Jazz was born in New Orleans, and began to move up to Chicago and throughout the rest of the United States. African Americans played a major part in the development of jazz music. Louis Armstrong was an idol in Jazz and he helped lead the new revalation of this new funky style. Other famous Jazz musicians include King Oliver, Kid Ory, and Duke Ellington. Jazz also influence other aspects of culture, including poetry fashion, and industry. In a way, Jazz helped ease racial tensions throughout the country.
I chose to write about the Jazz Era because this is a very appealing topic. Because I am so involved in musical arts, I already pertain a lot of knowledge on this subject. It is cool to find out about musicians and what their lives are like. I enjoy Jazz music very much and it's interesting to see how it all began.
